ORIGINS

Created between 2015–2017, this work explores dimensional surfaces and the physicality of paint. I built sculptural forms several inches off the canvas, then layered them with thick acrylic and pulled them into motion using bamboo skewers and custom tools. The result is a series of raw, rhythmic surfaces that emphasize gesture, tension, and depth. This early approach laid the groundwork for RISE, a new body of work beginning this December—continuing the investigation with more structure, clarity, and design-driven form.
